Healthy Food Program

The concept of HEALTH AND WELL-BEING is one of Global Me’s main pillars. One of the most important elements included in this pillar is the quality of the food we offer to our students. We have our own kitchen staff in both our locations, and they are responsible for preparing healthy and flavorful dishes made with natural ingredients. Every month, menus are designed based on advice given by our nutritionist who chooses the daily meals and snacks served at the school, always mindful of every student’s requirements and restrictions.

BASIC RULES OF THE GLOBAL ME KITCHEN

  • no white sugar
  • no cold-cuts containing dye
  • no ultra processed foods
  • fresh fruits and vegetables purchased daily
  • carefully selected vendors
  • in-house production of breads, cookies, tapioca flour chips (polvilho), and cereal bars
  • 100% natural fruit juices

Our concern with the quality of our food is one of Global Me’s values. At lunch and snack time, the team at the Global Me Kitchen prepares nutritious meals, specially crafted so the children can develop a heathy palate. The appearance of the meals, their recipes and taste are carefully elaborated by our kitchen staff, and our teaching staff also participates in this process.

At Global Me, mealtimes are also an opportunity to explore: it is a crucial part of the pedagogical process because it stimulates socialization, encourages self-sufficiency and allows the exploration of new flavors, smells, and textures in addition to many other discoveries.

Lunch meals are prepared by the school’s own kitchen staff, who follow the advice of our nutritionist and cater to each child’s needs and restrictions.

  • Meatless Mondays are reserved for vegetarian dishes.
  • Affectionate Tuesdays come with that special taste of home-cooked meals.
  • Brazilian Wednesdays offer the best of our homeland
  • Anglophone Thursdays are inspired by the cuisine of English-speaking countries
  • Worldly Fridays bring traditional foods from all over the world.

This is how we bring affection, sustainability, and culture to our food program.
