One of the pillars of Global Me is offering every possible way to promote our students’ cognitive development from when they are 6 months old up to the end of the Brazilian equivalent of grade 5. Music and drama lessons and activities held in our makerspace or art studio are examples of how we encourage the children to try new ways of thinking and understanding the world. For slightly older children, our multimedia and science labs are also very important spaces where new discoveries happen.
Our reading areas (libraries and Book Nooks) are also essential in this process since cognitive development is closely linked to language and reading and writing. Because our students are interacting using two different languages, English and Portuguese, the potential of those interactions is intensified. Global Me also has areas for decompressing (including our many green areas) which are very important in this process of self-discovery and exploration of the world around.
