A child who understands their body and their motor skills has higher self-esteem and is better at interacting with the world around them. At Global Me, swimming is a part of the children\u2019s motor skills development. We respect everyone\u2019s individual pace and experience and encourage the students to overcome their own limitations. The objective of dance classes at Global Me is to give students a channel for artistic expression. Dance moves are more than technique; they allow the children to communicate and learn how to \u201cfeel the world\u201d with their bodies. We have a partnership with the ballet school Ballet Paula Castro, whose methodology we follow, and our ballerinas are part of Paula Castro\u2019s dance body at their end-of-the-year performance at Teatro Alfa<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

During circus lessons, students work on several motor and interpretative skills that aid in the development of body expression and self-esteem. The activities challenge the children to deal with problem-situations that help in their motor and socio-affective skills.
\nAmong the circus lessons activities are clowning, simple juggling, trapeze, aerial dancing, human figures, and acro solo.<\/p>\n

Those activities improve tonic control and strengthen large muscle groups, promoting balance development and flexibility in addition to improving focus, posture, and laterality.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Capoeira<\/h5>

Capoeira stimulates socio-affective, cognitive, and motor skills, and improves cardiovascular, respiratory, and musculoskeletal fitness. During the lessons, students can learn about the history of Brazil and the native folklore of each region since folk tales and theater are the teaching tools for the skills required for capoeira.<\/p>\n

This is the only sport that allows the harmonious integration of music, singing, dancing, and acrobatics. Capoeira is based on the principles of living in a society and respecting one another. Due to their cultural aspect, these lessons are taught in Portuguese.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Practicing mindfulness during childhood has several benefits, including improving focus and attention and developing a better emotional balance. Moreover, once children are more aware of their own thoughts and feelings, they can better understand the feelings of others, thus becoming more compassionate and empathetic. At Global Me, mindfulness moments happen in partnership with MindKids.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Music and Theater<\/h5>

In early childhood, music contributes to socio-affective, psychomotor, and linguistic development by helping the mind and the body work together. Many studies show the benefits of using music in early childhood education, including its effect on both sides of the brain: the right side, which is related to creativity and emotions, and the left side, related to language and logic.<\/p>\n

Similarly, performing arts are crucial to develop emotional and verbal expression and body language in early childhood. The children learn a lot about themselves and acquire important skills related to their social relationships and their recognition as future global citizens. During drama classes at Global Me, we stimulate the students\u2019 creativity and autonomy in a fun and joyful way. But there\u2019s more: the lessons further stimulate reading and memorizing and enrich our little artists\u2019 cultural repertoire.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
